## **Overview**

The **Employees** section in the SpotOn Restaurant Back of House (BOH) allows restaurant owners and managers to create, manage, terminate, and reactivate employees at specific locations. Because staff changes over time, it’s important to understand how to correctly add employee profiles, assign locations and job positions, and manage employee status to ensure accurate payroll, scheduling, and Front of House (FOH) access

## **FAQs**

**Do I need to assign a job position for an employee to clock in?**  
Yes. Employees must be assigned at least one job position to clock in from the FOH.

**Can an employee work at multiple locations?**  
Yes. Employees can be assigned to multiple locations and job positions as needed.

**Does terminating an employee delete their data?**  
No. Terminated employees are retained for reporting and payroll history and can be reactivated at any time.

## **Tips**

- **Employee not appearing in FOH?**  
Verify the employee has an assigned location, job position, and login or swipe code.
- **Incorrect pay rate showing?**  
Check both the global Job Position pay rate and the employee-specific pay rate.
- **Rehiring a former employee?**  
Reactivate the existing profile instead of creating a new one to maintain historical data.
