**SpotOn Express printed chits** (tickets sent to kitchen and bar printers) use a compact layout for faster reading. They display brief headers and only the essential information to keep operations running smoothly.

## What to Expect
While the specific information displayed on a chit will vary depending on the type of order and the information included on the order, the layout is the same on all SpotOn-supported printer models:
- Epson TM-M30iii (thermal printer often used for receipts) prints all text in black.
- Epson TM-U220B (impact printer most commonly used for orders) prints modifiers in red and all other text in black.
The examples below walk through common order chits seen in kitchens.

### Combo Item Orders

## Frequently Asked Questions
**Are SpotOn Express printed kitchen chits (tickets) different or changed?**
Yes. We redesigned the chit layout to cut down on wasted paper and make the key info (order number, order type, items) easier to scan quickly. No client action is required; the new design is the default.
**Did the combo item or modifier formatting change?**
No. Combo items still nest sub-items below the parent, and modifiers nest below those.
**Can I customize my SpotOn Express kitchen chits?**
No. Printed kitchen chit customization is not currently supported for SpotOn Express accounts.
**Why is the phone number on a DoorDash ticket not the customer's number?**
For DoorDash orders, the number shown is always DoorDash's helpline, used to reach DoorDash support about the order.
**Why does a printed chit show a customer name instead of a table number?**
If the order is tied to a customer name instead of a table, such as a tab, the customer's name prints where the table number would normally go. For the rare orders without a table or check name, this line will be hidden.
**How do I know if an order was cancelled?**
Canceled tickets print with a line through all items, and a ‘Reprint’ identifier at the top so staff know they should no longer make those items.
**Can I change the item custom notes to print in red?**
No. Currently, custom notes print in black. Only modifiers and modifier options print in red on supported Impact printers.
