## **Overview**

Pricing Events automatically adjust Menu Item prices based on selected Order Types, dates, days, and times.

Pricing Events can apply four types of adjustments to Menu Items and Menu Item Groups:

- Amount
- Fixed
- Level
- Percent

To apply a Pricing Event to modifier prices, you must use the **Level** adjustment and configure the same Price Level Tag on both the parent Menu Item and its modifiers.

## **Create a Pricing Event**

1. Tap the **Pricing Events** icon.
2. Tap **New Item (+)**.
3. In **General Information**, enter a name for the Pricing Event.
4. In **Order Types**, select the Order Types that will participate in the event.
5. In **Schedule**, configure the dates, days, and times when the event will be active.
6. In **Event Items**, tap **New Event (+)**.
7. Configure the Event Item:
  - **Kind:** Select **Menu Group** or **Menu Item**.
  - **Group/Item:** Select the applicable Menu Item Group or Menu Item.
  - **Adjustment Kind:** Select the appropriate pricing adjustment.
  - **Value:** Enter or select the value for the adjustment.

### **Adjustment Kinds**

- **Amount:** Adds or subtracts a specific dollar amount from the item price.
- **Fixed:** Sets the item to a specific fixed price.
- **Level:** Applies a predefined Price Level.
- **Percent:** Adds or subtracts a percentage from the item price.

Menu Items and Menu Item Groups can use any of these Adjustment Kinds. Modifier pricing requires the **Level** adjustment.

## **Configure a Price Level for Modifiers**

Complete the following steps when a Pricing Event needs to apply a different price to a modifier.

#### **Step 1: Create the Price Level Tag**

1. Tap the **Price Levels** icon.
2. Tap **New (+)**.
3. Create a Price Level Tag for the event, such as **Happy Hour**.

#### **Step 2: Configure the Parent Menu Item**

1. Tap the **Menu Items** icon.
2. Locate and select the applicable parent Menu Item.
3. Navigate to its **Price Table**.
4. Locate the Price Level Tag created for the event.
5. Enter **0** for that Price Level.

Entering zero on the parent Menu Item acts as a bypass that allows the Pricing Event to evaluate the modifier price assigned to that Price Level.

#### **Step 3: Configure the Modifier Price**

1. From the parent Menu Item, open the applicable **Modifier Group**.
2. Select the modifier you want to update.
3. Locate the modifier’s pricing settings.
4. Find the Price Level Tag created for the event.
5. Enter the modifier price that should apply during the Pricing Event.
6. Repeat these steps for each applicable modifier.

#### **Step 4: Apply the Price Level to the Pricing Event**

1. Tap the **Pricing Events** icon.
2. Select the applicable Pricing Event.
3. In **Event Items**, tap **New Event (+)**.
4. Select the applicable Menu Item or Menu Item Group.
5. Set **Adjustment Kind** to **Level**.
6. Under **Value**, select the Price Level Tag created for the event.

Modifier pricing can only be applied through a Pricing Event when the **Adjustment Kind** is set to **Level**.

## **FAQs**

**Can Pricing Events change modifier prices?**

Yes. Configure the same Price Level Tag on the parent Menu Item and modifier, and then set the Pricing Event’s **Adjustment Kind** to **Level**.

**Why must I enter zero on the parent Menu Item?**

The zero value acts as a bypass, allowing the Pricing Event to use the price configured for the modifier under the selected Price Level.

**Can modifier prices use Amount, Fixed, or Percent adjustments?**

No. Pricing Events that apply Price Levels to modifiers must use the **Level** adjustment.

**Can I apply the event to an entire Menu Item Group?**

Yes. In **Event Items**, set **Kind** to **Menu Group** and select the applicable group.

**Can a Pricing Event apply only to specific Order Types?**

Yes. Select the participating Order Types when configuring the Pricing Event.

## **Tips**

If the correct modifier price does not appear:

- Confirm that the Pricing Event is active.
- Verify that the correct Order Types are selected.
- Review the event’s dates, days, and times.
- Confirm that **Adjustment Kind** is set to **Level**.
- Verify that the correct Price Level Tag is selected as the event’s value.
- Confirm that the parent Menu Item contains **0** under the same Price Level Tag.
- Confirm that the modifier has the intended price under that Price Level Tag.
- Verify that the correct Menu Item or Menu Item Group is included in **Event Items**.

If all settings are correct and the Standard modifier price continues to apply, escalate the issue for additional investigation.
