## What Is PCI Compliance?

PCI compliance refers to the **Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS)** — a set of security requirements that apply to every business that accepts credit or debit cards, regardless of size or how many transactions you process.

As a SpotOn merchant, you are responsible for ensuring your business meets PCI DSS requirements each year. SpotOn's tools and hardware are built to reduce your compliance burden, but completing the annual questionnaire and any required scans is your responsibility.

## What You Need to Do

Most SpotOn merchants need to complete two things each year through the **Viking Cloud PCI portal**:

1. **Annual Self-Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ)** — a series of yes/no questions about how your business handles payment card data. The PCI Wizard guides you through it step by step. No IT expertise required.
2. **Quarterly Vulnerability Scans** — automated external scans that check your internet-facing systems for security weaknesses. Not all merchants require scans — the PCI Wizard will tell you if they apply to your setup.

Once both are complete, you'll receive a **Compliance Certificate** by email. Compliance is valid for 12 months, after which you'll need to renew.

## How to Access Viking Cloud Portal

Go to [managepci.com/safemaker](https://managepci.com/safemaker) and log in with your registered email and password.

New merchants receive a **Pre-Registration email** from Viking Cloud upon boarding. Click the *Get Started* link in that email to create your account.
