## Overview

The SpotOn Express Sales Summary report shows how your business performed across five views — by hour, daypart, employee, location, and day of week — so you can spot patterns and compare periods without pulling individual orders.

## How It Works

### Access the Sales Summary 

1. Log in to [SpotOn Dashboard](http://dashboard.spoton.com)
2. From the left-hand menu, select  **Reports **→ **Sales** → **Sales Summary**
3. Choose one of the 5 tabs that matches the data you're seeking:
  - **Hourly** – Performance hour by hour — find peak and slow periods.
  - **Dayparts** – Performance by daypart, such as breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
  - **Employees **– Sales by employee.
  - **Locations **–** **Compare your locations side by side.
    - For SpotOn Express multi-location businesses.
  - **Weekdays **–** **Which day of the week performs best.

### Filter Results 

Generate data with controls (top-right):

- Location selector (for multi-location accounts), date range picker, and data filters.

### Choose What to View

Use the **View** dropdowns to pick the metric:

- Gross sales
- Net sales
- Order number (no.)
- Guest number (no.)
- Net sales per order
- Net sales per guest

:check_mark: The sort order of both the chart and the table will follow the selection.

### Compare Sales 

Choose a comparison period:

- **Custom **
- **Same weekday previous week**
- **Same weekday two weeks ago **
- **Same weekday previous year  **


### Read the Breakdown Table

Below the chart, the breakdown table lists every row for the selected tab. The top row shows “the total for the selected period.”

- Click any **column header** to sort row data ascending or descending.
- Click **Customize columns** to choose which columns display.

### Export

1. Select the **Export** icon  (top right)
2. Choose to export **Visible columns **(current customized view) or **All columns**
3. Select **Download CSV** to export a CSV. file

## Frequently Asked Questions

**Where did the old Sales Summary report go?**  
It's now the [Accounting Summary](https://help.spoton.com/space/SK/4514021383/Accounting+Summary+%7C+Dashboard+%7C+SpotOn+Express) report in the Accounting section.

**Where did the Hourly Sales report go?**  
It's now the **Hourly** tab in Sales Summary. You get the same hourly data, plus comparison benchmarks and four additional breakdowns.

**What is the “Locations” tab? **  
The **Locations** tab applies to multi-location SpotOn Express businesses; single-location clients won't see a location selector.

**How do I look at the Day and Week totals?**  
Day and week totals live in [Accounting Summary](https://help.spoton.com/space/SK/4514021383/Accounting+Summary+%7C+Dashboard+%7C+SpotOn+Express), not Sales Summary.
