## **FAQs**

### **How do I access the Table Layout Editor?**

To edit an existing table layout:

1. From the BOH home screen, select **Table Layouts**.
2. Select the table layout you would like to edit.
3. Click **Edit Layout** in the **General Information** section.
4. The **Table Layout Editor** screen will open, allowing you to modify tables, walls, and other layout properties.

---

### **Can I edit a table layout while the restaurant is open?**

Yes. Table layouts can be edited at any time from the BOH. Changes are sent to the FOH as they are saved and submitted. Active tables and open orders are not affected.

---

### **Can I create multiple table layouts for different dining areas or shifts?**

Yes. You can create multiple table layouts for the same location, such as a Main Dining Room, Patio, Bar Area, or Event Setup. Staff can switch between layouts in the FOH as needed.

---

### **Will changes to a table layout immediately appear on the FOH?**

In most cases, yes. Changes are sent to the FOH when they are submitted from the Table Layout Editor. If updates do not appear immediately, refresh the POS terminal.

---

### **Do table numbers need to be unique across all layouts?**

Yes. Table numbers must be unique within the same location, even if they exist on different table layouts. Duplicate table numbers can cause confusion when staff are assigning or locating orders.

---

### **What happens if a table does not appear on the FOH?**

Verify that:

- A table number has been assigned to the table.
- The table layout was saved successfully.
- The correct table layout is selected in the FOH.
- The POS terminal has been refreshed.

---

### **How do I view a table layout in the FOH?**

1. Navigate to the **Front of House (FOH)**.
2. Select the **Table Layout** button.
3. Select the desired table layout.
4. Confirm that the layout appears as expected.

---

### **Can I print my table layout or save it as a PDF?**

There is no dedicated **Print Layout** button in either the Back of House (BOH) or Front of House (FOH). However, you can use your web browser’s print functionality to print the layout or save it as a PDF.

#### **Print or Save a Table Layout as a PDF**

1. Navigate to **BOH > Table Layouts**.
2. Open the desired layout in the **Table Layout Editor**.
3. Select the browser menu (⋮) in the upper-right corner of your browser window.
4. Select **Print**.
5. In the print dialog:
  - Select **Save as PDF** to create a PDF copy, or
  - Select a printer to print the layout.
6. Click **Save** (for PDF) or **Print**.

> ℹ️ **Note:** The printed output reflects the current view of the Table Layout Editor. The appearance of the printed layout may vary depending on your browser, page orientation, and printer settings.

---

### **Why is a table blinking in the Front of House (FOH)?**

A blinking table indicates that the table has been occupied longer than the configured Table Occupied Time Before Alert threshold.

This alert helps staff identify tables that have been occupied for an extended period.

To view or modify this setting:

1. Navigate to BOH > Locations.
2. Select the desired location.
3. Under Location Settings, locate Table Occupied Time Before Alert (minutes, disabled if set to 0).
4. Enter the desired number of minutes before the alert is triggered.
5. Set the value to 0 to disable the alert.

> ℹ️ Note: Once the configured time is reached, the table will begin blinking in the FOH Table Layout to notify staff that the alert threshold has been exceeded.

---

## **Troubleshooting**

### Changes made in BOH are not appearing on the POS

If updates do not appear immediately, manually refresh the POS terminal using one of the following methods:

#### **Method 1: Refresh Using the Refresh Code**

1. From the FOH, enter **000111**.
2. Tap the **Check Mark (✓)**.
3. The terminal will refresh and download the latest updates.

#### **Method 2: Refresh from Show Commands**

1. Log in to the POS.
2. Select **Show Commands**.
3. Tap **Refresh**.

---

### **Additional Tips**

- Always assign table numbers before saving a layout.
- Avoid duplicate table numbers within the same location.
- Use the **Duplicate** tool to quickly create tables with the same size and shape.
- Create separate layouts for patios, private dining rooms, or seasonal seating areas.
- Use clear and descriptive layout names so staff can easily identify the correct floor plan.
