## **Definitions**

**Modifier Group**  
A category of choices used to customize an item or component (e.g., *Cheese – Choice*, *Meat – Choice*, *Sauce – Choice*).

**Modifier**  
A choice within a modifier group (e.g., *Sauce: BBQ*, *Meat: Chicken*, *Cheese: Swiss*).

**Modifier Option**  
A standard instruction that appears immediately before or after a modifier and specifies how it should be prepared (e.g., *NO*, *LIGHT*, *ON THE SIDE*).

**Special Request**  
A non-standard instruction entered as free text (e.g., “arrange the chocolate chips into a smile”).
