Use this guide to set up tip pooling in the SpotOn Dashboard, to address questions about calculations, or tip pool discrepancies in the Payroll Report. --- **Quick Links ** > Macro (toc) --- ## Before You Start - Tip Pooling is **disabled by default** and must be explicitly **enabled per location**. - Tip Pooling applies **only to credit card tips**. - **Cash tips** are not included and must be handled separately. - Once enabled, **all employees contribute** to the pool, even if they are not recipients. - The Tip Pooling feature is **disabled by default** and must be enabled and configured in **Account Settings**. > ⚠️ **Important Notes:** > ⚠️ > ⚠️ - When tip pooling is turned on, it goes into effect today's business day. > ⚠️ - Adjustments will not change previous days' reports. > ⚠️ - Adding or removing employees or job roles will immediately affect tip distribution. > ⚠️ > ⚠️ **Tip:** Choose the calculation method that best matches your business needs to ensure fair and transparent tip distribution. --- ## Enable Tip Pooling --- ## Disable Tip Pooling Disabling tip pooling changes how tips are calculated in reports. Current tip pool settings no longer apply. > ℹ️ **Important Notes** > ℹ️ > ℹ️ - When tip pooling is off, the change takes effect the next fiscal day. > ℹ️ - Turning tip pooling off does **not** change the previous business day's tip calculations. > ℹ️ - If tip pooling is enabled and disabled the same day, the system acts as if it was never on, allowing you to test the calculation. 1. Navigate to [SpotOn Merchant Dashboard](https://dashboard.spoton.com) 2. Choose **Team Management > Tip Pooling ** 3. Click **Disable Tip pool**** ** 4.
