We believe in transparency and want you to fully understand how your fees work. Below is a breakdown of the different types of fees you might see on your statements and invoices, what they cover, and how they’re billed.

---

## **Implementation Fees**

Implementation fees cover the upfront work needed to set up your SpotOn system.
Every merchant setup is unique; there’s no one-size-fits-all approach.

Our team invests significant time preparing your account before you ever go live, including:

- Building out your menu/catalog
- Configuring your hardware
- Syncing your systems

These fees help offset the time and expertise of our specialists. They apply even if you later choose not to move forward with processing. Our goal is to deliver long-term value and build a solution that grows with your business.

## **Software Fees**

Software fees cover the use of your SpotOn platform, including technology that runs your POS, manages sales data, and supports your overall operations.

- Billed monthly as a fixed subscription.
- Charged regardless of your account activity.
- Invoiced in advance for the upcoming month.
  - For example, January 1 invoice covers the period of January 1–31.
- Collected roughly **30 days** after the invoice date.
  - For example, January 1 invoice is typically charged on January 30.
  - February 1 invoice is typically charged on March 2.

## **Hardware Fees**

Depending on your account, you may pay for your hardware in one of three ways:

#### **Upfront Payment**

- You can choose to pay the full cost of your hardware at the time of purchase.

#### **Installment Plans**

- Allows you to repay hardware costs through predictable monthly payments, usually spread over 20 months.
- Billed monthly as a fixed subscription.
- Charged regardless of your account activity.

#### **Financing**

- Instead of monthly invoices, a small percentage (typically 2%) is deducted from your daily batches to pay off your hardware.
- No interest is charged. You pay only the cost of the equipment.
- If your account is inactive for 30+ days, or if there’s still a balance after 12 months, the remaining amount is automatically collected from your bank account.

## **Processing Fees**

Processing fees cover the costs associated with running your credit and debit card transactions. This includes routing payments through SpotOn, the card networks (like Visa and Mastercard), and the customer’s issuing bank.

- These fees are detailed in your monthly processing statement, so you can see exactly what you’re paying.
- How these fees are deducted depends on your billing type:
  - **Monthly billing:** You’ll see the total processing fees debited from your bank account on the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd of each month.
  - **Daily billing:** Fees are deducted daily from your batches (or in some cases directly from your bank account). At the end of the month, any remaining fees are charged on the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd of the following month
