The Fiscal Hours feature in Express lets you set when your business day and week begin. This is especially helpful if your hours extend past midnight.

By aligning pay periods and reports with your actual operating hours, your sales and labor data will be grouped into one consistent reporting day - no more manual adjustments.

---

## Why Adjust Fiscal Hours?

Setting custom fiscal hours helps:

- Group late-night sales and labor into the correct business day
- Simplify reporting and reduce manual calculations
- Align payroll and reporting tools with your real-world schedule

## Frequently Asked Questions

**Will my past reports update after I change my fiscal hours?**
No. Updating your fiscal hours will only affect new data going forward. Reports from before the change will continue to use your original calendar-based settings.

**Why do I see different reporting styles in the days after updating?**
You may experience a brief transition period where some reports still show calendar-based data, while others reflect the new fiscal settings. This is normal and temporary as the system adjusts.

**Who should use custom fiscal hours?**
This feature is ideal for businesses that operate late at night or across calendar days, like bars or restaurants with overnight shifts. It helps align your reporting with your actual hours of operation instead of the standard calendar day.
