# **Overview**

We are launching **Express Sales Channels**, a new feature that allows restaurant merchants to control the visibility of menu categories across different sales channels (e.g., POS and Online Ordering). This feature provides greater flexibility in menu management, helping merchants tailor offerings and highlight exclusive in-store or online specials.

# How can merchants use this feature?

### **Example 1: **

Chloe's Taqueria wants to hide their alcohol category from Online Ordering, ensuring that alcoholic beverages are only available for in-store purchases.

### **Example 2: **

Urban Eats Deli is running an exclusive online-only promotion for their sandwiches and wants to hide them from the in-store POS, driving more online sales while keeping in-person offerings unchanged.

# FAQs

**Q: By default, are all categories available online and on the POS? **

A: Yes. When adding a new category, the sales channel options “online” and “POS” are both checked on.

**Q: Will the “POS” option apply to handhelds and kiosks too (i.e. hiding a category on the POS will hide it on handhelds and kiosks)? **

A: Yes**. **

**Q: Can merchants customize sales channels for individual items? **

A: No, today merchants can only edit the entire category.

**Q: What happens to Menu Items that don’t live in any category? **

A: Menu items without categories will be available for both sales channels. This functionality may be considered in a future update based on merchant demand

**Q: How can a user easily know which sales channel any given menu item belongs to? **

A: Each menu item module will clearly display selected sales channels, as shown in the dashboard example below. There is also a CTA to edit the sales channel settings.
