## **Overview**

Pausing online ordering temporarily hides your online menu and prevents customers from placing online orders for a duration of your choice. This feature is ideal during unexpected kitchen rushes, high volume periods, or temporary ingredient shortages.

This guide covers how to pause, modify, and resume SpotOn Order direct from your Front of House (FOH) POS terminal.

## **FAQs**

**Q: How do staff know if online ordering is currently paused?**

A: When online ordering is active-paused, a distinct green banner will display across the top of the FOH screen as a visual reminder to staff.

**Q: Can I edit the pause timer while it's actively counting down?**

A: Yes! Tap the green banner at the top of the screen to quickly return to the *Pause Online Ordering* screen and choose **Modify Time** or **Resume Online Ordering Now**.

**Q: Will scheduled/future online orders placed before the pause still come through?**

A: Pausing online ordering prevents customers from placing *new* orders during the pause window. Existing orders already placed prior to the pause will still follow their standard flow.

## **Tips**

> **Pro Tip:** If your kitchen is only backed up on a specific station or item, consider 86'ing individual items from the FOH menu management rather than pausing all online ordering completely!

- **Green Banner Missing?** If you believe online ordering is paused but do not see the green top banner, re-navigate to `Show Commands` > `Online Ordering Pacing` > `Pause Online Ordering` to verify the current status.
- **Internet Connection Check:** Ensure your FOH terminal is connected to the network when applying or modifying a pause to ensure changes sync immediately with your online ordering system.
