# SpotOn Marketing Restaurant Deals FAQS

### What can Restaurant Deals do for my business?

- Creates single-use deals and discounts redeemable by guests online and in person with the new Marketing Deals feature.
- Send deals via email and Facebook to all guests or specific ones based on data collected from your POS and online orders to get the most updated information about your top spenders, lapsed guests, and more. Head to the **Marketing** section of your SpotOn Dashboard to get started.

### What Types of Restaurant Deals Can I Create?

With the first release of marketing deals, restaurant clients can create two types of deals:

1. Percent off
2. Dollar-off

The percentage amount will be taken off the entire order before the tip.

### Who Can Redeem the Deals that I Create & Send?

Deals are one-time use codes that any guest can redeem with the code.

You can schedule the duration of your deal for a specific date and time or select **All Day** for the deal to be valid during regular business hours.

### How Do I Create a Deal?

Deals are created in your marketing dashboard. Head to **Dashboard → My Campaigns → Create Campaign → Offer a Deal** and select a template to get started.

### How do I Edit the Deal Settings on an Existing Deal?

From the deal editing page, you can access deal settings in two places:

1. By clicking on **Review & Publish**
2. By clicking anywhere inside the deal template

### What is the Deal Name field in Settings?

The **Deal Name** is to help you remember and identify the deals that you have created.

> ℹ️ **Note**: It will appear *only *in the Dashboard and on your POS

For example, the deal name **Black Friday 20% Off** will appear when the code is redeemed on your POS.

### How do Guests Claim Deals on Facebook?

Guests who find your deal on Facebook can claim their deal by clicking on the autogenerated link in the post. When they click the link, they’ll be taken to a deal landing page with details and a space to enter their email address. Once their info has been inputted, they will be sent an email with the deal code to redeem in the restaurant or online.

> ⚠️ **Note**: In order for a guest to receive the deal via the Facebook landing page, their email must not have been used to claim deals in the past.** Existing guests are eligible for deals sent via email.**

### How do I Target Specific Guests for Emailed Deals?

Guests are auto-segmented into groups based on their spending activity (or lack thereof). These groups can be accessed by clicking on **Target Audience** in the deals settings sidebar.

Choose to send to all guests or select groups like active, lapsed, imported, new this week, top spenders, and best guests.

**Only **selected group(s) will receive the deal via email.

### How do I Apply Deals to the Point of Sale?

To enter the deal into your POS, scan the QR code your guest presents at checkout or manually type in the code found beneath the QR code. The deal code will automatically populate for online orders, or your guest can manually enter the code at checkout.

#### In-Restaurant Scan QR Code Redemption

1. Select the guest to be discounted
2. Scan their QR code with a scanner. You don’t need to access the ticket commands sub-menu. Scanning is recognized immediately.

#### In-Restaurant Manual Entry Redemption

1. Click on the** Team Name** on the POS
2. From** Ticket Commands**, click **Marketing Deals**
3. Click in the form field where the code will be typed
4. Type in the code manually

> ℹ️ QR codes are **only **compatible with the RPOS and Honeywell scanner

### How Do I Track Deal Redemptions?

Tracking deal redemptions can be done in your marketing dashboard. Navigate to **Dashboard → Marketing → Campaign Results.**

To see your most recent redemptions, select **Redemptions**, then **Active Campaigns**. You can also filter by specific dates to track historical redemption performance.

Once filtered, the Campaign Performance report shows you total redemptions, the total transaction value of sales with deals, and a breakdown of your marketing success by campaign.
