## **Overview**

Some restaurants sell grab-and-go items, such as canned drinks, bottled beverages, or bags of chips, that do not need to print to the kitchen when they are ordered in person at the counter. If those same items are also available through SpotOn Online Ordering, they may still need to print when they are ordered online.

Use this workflow to create a requisition group for items that should only print for online order types, then route that requisition group appropriately in SpotOn Restaurant Back of House.

## **Step-by-Step Instructions**

### **Create the ORD Print Only requisition group**

1. In SpotOn Restaurant Back of House, select **Requisition Groups**.
2. Select **+ New Item** to create a new requisition group.
3. In **General Information**, enter **ORD Print Only** as the requisition group name.
4. Save the change, then return to the main Back of House screen.

### **Assign menu items to the requisition group**

5. Select **Menu Items**.
6. From the menu item list, select each item that should not print for in-person counter orders but should print when ordered through SpotOn Online Ordering.
7. Scroll to **Location Specific Settings**.
8. From the **Requisition Group** dropdown, select **ORD Print Only**.
9. Save the change, then return to the main Back of House screen.

### **Configure station routing**

10. Select **Stations**.
11. Scroll to the **Routing** section.
12. Confirm the print routing assigned to the **ORD Print Only** requisition group is set to **None**. This prevents these items from printing during normal in-person counter orders.
13. Select **New Order Type Route**.
14. Create a **New Order Type Route** for each SpotOn Online Ordering order type the restaurant uses.
  - Always include **SpotOn Order Pickup**.
  - Include **SpotOn Order Delivery** only if delivery is enabled and the restaurant uses in-house delivery or DoorDash Drive.
  - Match the order types configured in the **Locations** tab.
15. Save the routing changes.

> ✅ **Recommended:** After setup is complete, place a test online order to confirm the selected items print correctly. Void the order or payment afterward, if needed.

## **FAQs**

**What does the ORD Print Only requisition group do?**

It identifies menu items that should not print for in-person orders but should print when they are ordered through SpotOn Online Ordering.

**Should all online order types be added to station routing?**

Add only the SpotOn Online Ordering order types the restaurant actively uses. SpotOn Order Pickup should always be included. SpotOn Order Delivery should be included only when delivery is enabled and used by the restaurant.

**Why is the default print routing for ORD Print Only set to None?**

Setting the default print routing to None prevents grab-and-go items from printing during normal counter orders. The order type routes then allow those items to print for the applicable online order types.

- If items are not printing for online orders, confirm the item is assigned to the **ORD Print Only** requisition group.
- Confirm the correct SpotOn Online Ordering order types were added as **New Order Type Route** entries.
